Mountain Rwenzori is found at the western border of Uganda and the eastern border of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The mountain’s highest peak is Margherita Peak, at 16,893 ft (5,109 m).

 It lies along Uganda’s border with the Democratic Republic Congo (DRC) and borders the DRC’s Virunga National Park, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for 50 km. It is situated in the Bundibugyo, Kabarole and Kasese districts.
